Rail Baron

It is 1840 and you have a charter, a quarter of a million dollars and a map nobody has surveyed. Put a station beside a town (3), lay track from the end of its platform (2), and buy a train to run between them (4). Drag to pan, right-drag to turn, scroll to zoom, WASD to glide; Space pauses, and you can keep building while it does. Grades matter: a small engine with a full load of coal will stall on a stiff climb. Towns you serve grow. Everything is drawn in code — the terrain, the trees, the engines down to their connecting rods — and the railway saves itself as you go, so you can stop whenever you like.
